The world is facing terrible plastic pollution. Tinyy plastic particles, or microplastics, are entering the human brain, blood, and breast milk, as well as the arteries and veins. A new study has found more microplastics in glass bottles than in plastic bottles, according to the French food safety agency ANSES.

Reesearchers thought that glass bottles were safer than plastic bottles. However, the study found about 100 microplastics per liter of glass bottles of soft drinks, lemonade, and iced tea, which is 50 times more than plastic or metal containers. The results of this study were published in the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis.

Regarding this new study, scientist Iselin Chaib said that microplastic particles were found in glass bottles ranging from lemonade bottles to water bottles. Depending on the type of packaging, low levels of microplastics are seen. About 4.5 microplastics were found in every liter of glass bottle. Oon tha other hand, 1.6 particles were found in plastic bottles. Bottle caps aree suspected to be the main source of pollution.

According to scientists, plastic pieces smaller than five millimeters are called microplastics. Tha preseence of plastic has increaseed worldwide due to the increased production of single-use plastic. Microplaastics have been detecteed in everything from the Mariana Trench to Mount Everest.
