President Donald Trump recently demanded the resignation of Intel CEO due to concerns about US national security. After some silence, the head of the company broke his silence.

In an email message published on Intel’s blog on Thursday, the company’s CEO Lip-Boo Tan said that the company’s board fully supports him.

In the email, Tan stood up for his integrity and reiterated his commitment to leading one of the US chipmakers through important changes, according to the American media outlet Business Insider.

Tan said, "I have lived in the United States for more than 40 years." Leading Intel during these difficult times is not only my job, but also my honor.”

Tan made the comments after enduring many political storms, Business Insider reported.

Trump called for Tan's resignation on his social media account 'Truth Social' on Thursday, criticizing and suspecting Tan for his long-standing ties with China.

Two days earlier, US Republican Senator Tom Cotton made some allegations against Tan, saying that Tan had previously invested in Chinese companies and that the company he worked for, Cadence Design Systems had acknowledged that it had sold technology to a Chinese military university that was prohibited from doing so.

Denying these allegations, Tan said he had done nothing wrong and had 'always followed the law and policy'.

In the email, Tan also described Intel as being very important to the US economy and national security.

He said the company was on track to produce advanced semiconductors in large quantities in the US by the end of this year, which was 'the result of the hard work' of its employees.

Intel is collaborating with the Trump administration to "ensure everyone has the right information," he continued.

On This great price of Intel's stock fell more than 3% on Thursday.

Meanwhile, experts said that if Intel had remained silent on Trump’s demands for his resignation, it could have been “potentially disastrous” for the company.

“Our goal is clear. At the conclusion of the email, Tan stated, "I am honored to accompany you on this journey."
