Samsung, a South Korean tech company, has officially shown off the world's first OLED gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 500 Hz. The "Odyssey OLED G6" monitor is mostly for gamers or people who play games.
Samsung said on Sunday that this new gaming monitor is now available in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Later on, it will be sold in other countries around the world. The Odyssey OLED G6 monitor costs $1,488. The screen on the monitor is 27 inches wide and has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It refreshes at 500 Hz. The display's gray-to-gray response time is only 0.03 milliseconds, which is important for quick response. It has Samsung's own QD-OLED technology. The monitor will work with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Because of this, issues like screen tearing and stuttering will happen less often. Even when you play for a long time, the picture will stay smooth and stable.
The frame of the monitor is made of metal. The back has "Core Lighting+" technology, which changes the light based on what is on the screen. It also has ways to change the height, tilt, and rotation of the stand. There will be almost no bezels around the monitor. You can connect other devices to the monitor through DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI ports, a USB-A port, and a headphone jack. It has the VESA Display HDR True Black 500 seal of approval.. The brightest setting can go up to 1,000 nits. The Pantone Validated monitor can show more than 2,100 colours and 110 different skin tones correctly, so it's great for both gaming and professional content creators.
Samsung has added "OLED Safeguard+" technology to its OLED displays to lower the risk of burn-in. Samsung says that its pulsating heat pipe and dynamic cooling system are five times better than traditional methods. Also, still image parts will automatically fade to light, which will help keep the screen from burning in over time.
