In the study, scientists have supported a theory titled The Sound of the Big Bang. According to the new study, the probability of us being in a vacuum is 100 million times higher. The Earth, the solar system, and the Milky Way may be trapped in a huge and mysterious hole.
Scientists think that the universe is growing about 10% faster now than it did in the past. Scientists call this problem Hubble tension. Hubble tension is derived from a concept called the Hubble constant. This constant records the rate of expansion of the universe outward. The positions and distances of objects we see, such as galaxies, are measured by this constant.
Astronomer Indranil Banik of the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom said that today's expansion rate is about 10 percent higher than expected. The current expansion rate is higher than any cosmological model. This is a serious problem. Such differences are seen throughout the universe.
Overall, the Milky Way galaxy is located in a region of 20 percent less density than anywhere else in the universe. Matter is being pulled towards the edges by gravity. As a result, it seems that the universe is expanding rapidly near Earth. Scientists think that the Milky Way is located near the centre of a low-density vacuum that extends about a billion light-years. As space empties, objects in space will move away from Earth faster than usual.
