Trump launches AI-powered search engine

Tha company has updated the web browser version of Trump's "Truth Social" with a feature called "Truth Search AI" powered by Perplexity.

US President Donald Trump's company has joined hands with controversial artificial intelligence or AI company Perplexity to launch a new AI-powered search engine.

US President Trump's personal-controlled 'Trump Media' company has announced that they have started this new initiative as part of their social media 'Truth Social'.

The feature called 'Truth Search AI' powered by Perplexity has been added to the web browser version of Trump's 'Truth Social', the British daily Independent reported.

Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes said the AI feature will make Truth Social a valuable platform that “will become even more useful for our American-loving users.”

“Truth Social users ask a variety of important questions, so we’re excited to provide them with a powerful AI experience,” said Dmitry Shevelenko, chief commercial officer at Perplexity.

“Inquisitive minds are the engine of change, and Perplexity’s AI is designed to encourage that curiosity, where the source of information is shown by providing direct and reliable answers, so people can understand and learn better.”

The New York Times, the New York Post, and the Dow Jones of the New York Stock Exchange have all previously filed copyright lawsuits against Perplexity.

Recently, cybersecurity company Cloudflare said that Perplexity is secretly grabbing data from various websites without permission. For this, the AI startup has come under fire.

Perplexity's AI search engine has reportedly gotten past several websites' anti-bot security measures and accessed their content, according to a report by Cloudflare.

"A few well-known AI firms are acting like hackers from North Korea." "It's time to expose, shame, and block them," stated Matthew Prince, CEO of Cloudflare.

In response to the accusation, Perplexity said that Cloudflare’s systems “are not good enough to distinguish between legitimate AI assistants and real threats.”

The AI company also said that it is not the company itself that is responsible for taking information from websites without permission, but rather the third-party services it uses “for specific purposes.”

In response to a question about whether their new AI search engine would “surreptitiously collect data by circumventing website restrictions or blocks,” Trump Media said in a press release that their goal is to “stop big tech companies’ attacks on freedom of expression, open up the internet to everyone, and restore people’s right to express themselves.”
