In the Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the "FE," or "Fan Edition," version of its "Galaxy Z Flip 7."
Tech giant Samsung’s summer ‘Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025’ has ended. As anticipated, the company debuted three new smartwatch models in addition to its next-generation Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold smartphones.
Let's see what surprises Samsung had in store for the 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event-
Galaxy Z Fold 7
The "Galaxy Z Fold 7," which is lighter and thinner than the previous model, has finally been released by Samsung. The technology site claims that it is the most compact Fold design to date, measuring only 4.2 mm when open and 8.9 mm when folded. Verge wrote in the report.
The new model is larger than the previous model, with an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external display. Some more upgrades have been added to the Fold 7. It has a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a maximum of 16 GB of RAM.
Although the storage is still one terabyte, Samsung has made some improvements to the rear camera setup. This time, an improved 200-megapixel wide-angle sensor has been added, along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The 'S Pen' is not supported by the Fold 7, in contrast to earlier models.
The price of the Fold 7 starts at 1,999.99 dollars. It will be available in four colors: Silver, Black, Blue, and Mint (Mint is available only for online orders). The phone is available for pre-order immediately after the announcement, and customers will receive it from July 25.
Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a larger 4.1-inch screen, in which the company has installed two punch-hole cameras. Not only the outer screen, but the inner screen has also been enlarged, where the Flip 6 had a 6.7-inch display, this time it stands at 6.9 inches.
Like the Fold 7, this clamshell-style phone is thinner than before. When unfolded, its thickness is a mere 6.5 millimetres. The Flip 7 has Samsung's Exynos 2500 processor, 12 GB of RAM and a maximum of 512 GB of storage. It also has a 4300 mAh battery.
The phone's camera setup remains the same, with a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel front camera.
The Flip 7 is priced at $1,999.99, according to The Verge. It will be available in four colors: Blue, Black, Coral Red, and Mint (Mint can only be ordered online). The phone can be pre-ordered immediately after the announcement, but customers will receive it after July 25.
Z Flip FE for the first time
Samsung debuted the "Galaxy Z Flip 7" "FE," or "Fan Edition," version at the event. The "Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE" is less expensive than the flagship model, just like other FE devices. Its price starts at $899.99.
The Flip 7 FE's design is very similar to the Flip 6, with a 3.4-inch cover display that sits within the camera bar. The 6.7-inch internal display is still in place.
It also shares a lot of the same specs as the Flip 6. It features a 4,000mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel ultrawide and a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera.
There will be two colour options for the Flip 7 FE: black and white. Pre-orders for the phone have already begun and shipping will begin on July 25.
Galaxy Watch Ultra gets double the storage
With 64GB of storage instead of 32GB, Samsung's second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts many of the same features as the first model. The device's titanium casing, 47mm display, and 590mAh battery—which can run for up to 100 hours in power-saving mode—remain intact.
The watch will support the latest features of ‘One UI 8’, including the ability to measure antioxidant levels, advice on ideal sleep time and a feature called ‘Running Coach’ that will give users motivation and instant guidance. The Galaxy Watch Ultra costs $649. Pre-orders will be accepted starting on July 25.
The Galaxy Watch 8 is back
After a year's break, Samsung has brought back the ‘Galaxy 8 Classic’ to the market, which has a silver-colored round bezel and a 46mm display. Samsung has included the Galaxy Watch Ultra's "Quick" button, 64GB of storage, and a 445mAh battery in this updated model.
The LTE and Bluetooth versions of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic are priced at $549.99 and $499.99, respectively. There will be black and white versions. The watch can be pre-ordered and will be available from July 25.
AI mode in ‘Circle to Search’ feature
Rick Osterloh, senior vice president of Google’s devices and services division, appeared at Samsung’s Unpacked event. He declared that the "Circle to Search" feature would now include Google's AI mode. Through this, users will be able to ask more follow-up questions after visual searches.
Samsung's Calendar, Notes, and Reminders apps will now also support Gemini Live integration. The new phones will come with all these features pre-installed, along with Android 16 and One UI 8.
